Well, msa di Boulevard, Miri kan i received a text message from Hanna.. She told me that they (Hanna, Dieja and boyfee) will be going out later for a tea session.. Me being me obviously wanted to join them but how can i do? Am way across the national border.. Ke Miri jua saja aku ah.. Exegerate banar jua eyh.. So i replied, saying that am on my way back to Brunei..

Then, its quarter to seven that i gave them a call using my friend, Nazri's handphone..

Me: Mana kamu ni?

Hanna: Aneka Rasa.. Bah lakas th join kami..

Me: Bah, krg th i text u guys lagi.. Msih on the way.. Now di Bukit Beruang.. Ehehe..

Yatah bah, panjang plg lagi our conversation atu.. Whahaha.. Then almost eight i text them saying that i have to make a short stop at Gadong.. Then they were saying that they are done with their tea session..

Then rupanya durg main-main sja.. Benci i.. So we went to Seri Q-lap and then before balik, we stopped at Blue Eden Cafe and Restaurant.. Being the vain us.. We took some photos together and guess what..

It was fun.. Siyok.. Well, I went to Miri with my friend.. My ex-roomate back during my A-level year.. Whoa.. Years ago tu..

Yeah, he wanted to belanja me actually so we went to Miri.. Boring wa udah Brunei ani.. Nada wa tempat kn diaga lagi.. So, yea.. There were the two of us.. Stayed there for a night and do some shopping..

I inda plang shopping.. I wasnt intended to do shopping jua wah.. My friend byk plang beli barang.. Pecaya, i tukar my $50 and the RM msih inda habis.. Whoa.. Bisai eyh.. Inda pembazir wa i ani.. Inda boros..

Urm, Dieja was planning to join but i didnt bawa her.. Al-maklum that was a so-called last minute thingie but okay jua lah, kelurusan wa after the tests..

Btw, me and some friends plan to go to Miri again on Saturday, 12th July.. Hopefully jadilah.. Am looking forward for that..

Another Hang-out Session..

Late this afternoon, Dieja went to my house with her boifee to pick me for the eating session at Simply Shaz with Hanna, Shamyza and the fiance.. I dont even informed about this outing..

Its a very last minute thing for me, so Dieja and the boifee had to wait for me.. Sorry guys.. Then once we arrived at Simply Shaz, immediately we joined Hanna, Shamyza and the fiance.. Well, at that particular moment, they have just finish their food.. The fiance ordered some sate..

Me and Dieja ordered Nasi Lemak Ayam while her boifee ordered Nasi Lemak Daging.. We added Ikan Bakar and Kerang Bakar to our order.. Nice!! Glad that there was nothing to be complained..

We spent a good 90 minutes there then I joined Dieja and the boifee to the RIPAS Hospital to visit Dieja's grandma and friend.. We were there till 10 in the evening.. After which we planned to go to Gadong to meet some friends of us.. But they were not there so we decided to go to Mamih Mata-Mata instead..

On the way to the above mentioned place, there was a road block.. Gosh!! It was a long cue.. Many cars were escorted to the Police Station for various reason.. Ehehe..

As being mentioned that we have decided to go to Mamih Mata-Mata and guess what.. That is one moment that the electricity got cut off.. It wasnt too long though.. Maximum of 1 minute.. Ehehehe..

Then we took some photos together and left the place around 1 in the morning.. Now, am right here at the living room watching the Euro 2008 2nd Semi-final match between Spain and Greece.. Am opting for Spain by the way..

Oh, talking about the Euro, i would like to share this information that as for the Euro 2008 final, the Mamih will open their business premise till 5 in the morning.. Am hoping that the final would be between Jerman and the Spain.. I love both!!

Tadi Hanna, Dieja dan saya telah bersepakat untuk mencuba sebuah restoran yang baru sahaja dibuka awal bulan ini.. Sebenarnya, sudah lama saya berkeinginan untuk merasakan sendiri sajian yang ditawarkan oleh restoran tersebut..

Banyak juga cerita-cerita mengenai restoran tersebut dan kesemuanya menyatakan bahawa restoran tersebut menawarkan sajian nasi lemak yang amat menyelerakan.. Apabila melihat perubahan yang telah dilakukan oleh pemilik restoran tersebut, saya berpendapat bahawa ia merupakan sebuah tempat yang nampak berbaloi untuk dicuba.. Kecenderungan untuk mencuba restoran tersebut juga disebabkan ingin memberikan sokongan kepada pemilik blog yang sering saya kunjungi iaitu pasangan Ramzi dan Naima.. "beh, ambilkan tu"..

Bahkan teman blog saya, Marriz juga sudah sering kali menyarankan saya untuk mencuba sendiri keenakkan nasi lemak di restoran tersebut..

Baiklah, kira-kira jam 8.15 malam kami memulakan langkah pertama ke restoran tersebut.. Langkah demi langkah diteruskan dan pencarian tersebut tidak mengambil masa yang lama.. Ehehehe (saja kn buat suspen)..

Semasa melabuhkan punggung ke kerusi yang disediakan, segera kehadiran kami disambut oleh Ramzi.. Menu hidangan yang disediakan menarik perhatian kami.. Merujuk pada menu hidangan tersebut memang benar seperti yang telah diperkatakan ramai bahawa restoran ini menyajikan hidangan pada kadar yang pada saya, amat berpatutan..


Walaupun restoran ini menawarkan menu yang agak terhad, tetapi di dalam keterhadan tersebut bolehlah dikatakan bahawa pemilik restoran tesebut amat mengutamakan kepuasan para pelanggan adalah terjamin..

Sebagai percubaan kami memilih untuk mencuba Nasi Lemak Special dan Ikan Bakar yang mereka tawarkan..

Ulasan bagi Nasi Lemak Special:


Susun atur nasi lemak tersebut agak menarik di atas piring hijau yang tidak kurang menariknya..

Rasa? Dari aspek rasa, saya mempunyai pendapat tersendiri dan saya akui bahawa pendapat saya ini pun agak berbelah bahagi..

Nasi lemaknya sungguh enak.. Ia terasa tidak terlalu lemak.. Baik bagi mereka yang mementingkan kesihatan mereka..

Ayam goreng yang lazat dengan potongan yang sederhana.. Amat berbaloi dengan harga yang dikenakan kepada para pelangan..

Akan tetapi saya agak kurang mengemari daging yang disediakan.. Ia agak terlalu berempah.. "its too spicy".. Mungkin sesuatu boleh dilakukan oleh pemilik restoran tersebut bagi aspek ini..

Ulasan bagi Ikan bakar:
Ikan bakar tersebut datang di dalam foil.. Saya tidak perlu mengulas lebih panjang mengenai ikan bakar kerana saya pasti ia dapat diungkapkan dengan satu perkataan iaitu: "NYAMAN!!"


Secara keseluruhannya bolehlah saya katakan pengalaman makan di restoran tersebut merupakan satu pengalaman yang baik.. Mengapa? Hanya di restoran ini anda dapat menikmati makanan sedap pada kadar yang amat murah.. Sungguh berbaloi!!

Besar kemungkinan saya akan berkunjung lagi ke restoran tersebut dalam masa yang terdekat ini..

Two pumps system..

Still remember last week, the government of Brunei setting a price hike for for foreign cars and vessels..

In a bid to curb smuggling, owners of vehicles not registered here will be paying more at the pump..

The same action was proposed by Malaysia to have their own "two pumps system", where there will be seperate pump for those foreign registered vehicles.. This was introduced to make sure that no foreigners will be able to buy the fuel at a subsidised price..

It was mentioned that, the two advantage of this system are that foreigners will pay market rates for their petrol and Malaysians will know what the real price of petrol is..

But this fuel price is to be restructured again..

Today during the Friday Pray Sermon, the Imam emphasised on the recent crisis of food inflation.. He even shared the factors which influence the demand and supply, which then causing to the crisis of food inflation..

Am glad with such action.. Now, everyone would know the importance of Economics..

Last night, i was so tired yet boring.. Urm, tired for having a busy afternoon and boring coz i have nothing to do in the evening..

Around 6 in the afternoon, Nazri gave me a short call that he need an accompany.. He wanted to cut his hair short.. So the two of us heading to The Mall for that purpose..

He opted for Essensual to get his hair cut.. So below is the self-take photo of me while waiting for him.. Am bored.. It was half past 8 in the evening.. Prior to that, Sham was there too.. Huhuhu.. Luckily me and him wasnt fighting over nothing.. Hahaha..

Me and the friends didnt go out for the lunch.. We ordered some food for delivery.. Then over the lunch, we discuss on our plan to organise a farewell party for one of our lecturer, Mr. Ian Wall..

Mr. Ian wall will be leaving Brunei for New Zealand (i heard).. He teaches our Business Planning and Control unit.. Urm, so as for the farewell, it will be catering base.. The farewell will be on the coming 24th June..

Effective from 19th June, all foreign registered vehicles in Brunei will have to pay more for petrol and diesel that is B$1.13 per litre from 31 cents, for diesel and B$1.18 per litre that is from 53 cents for premium 97 with a $10 sales cap to foreign registered vehicles has also been lifted..

It is a good action taken by relevant authorities of the government such as the Energy Unit of Prime Minister Office and the Brunei Shell Marketing.. Kuddos!!

Kurangkan yang salah, Biasakan yang betul..

Kesilapan dalam pengunaan perkataan yang betul dalam suatu ayat memang sering terjadi.. Kesilapan ini berlaku samada secara senghaja atau tidak, Dilakukan dalam sedar mahu pun tidak..

Sebenarnya apa yang ingin saya ketengahkan di dalam 'posting' saya kali ini ialah isu kesilapan dalam pengunaan perkataan yang betul dan dalam membincangkan isu tersebut, 'posting' ini akan menyentuh mengenai penggunaan perkataan 'ungkayah'..

Perkataan 'ungkayah' ini sebenarnya mempunyai pelbagai maksud dan ia bergantung pada struktur ayat tersebut.. Pada satu situasi, perkataan 'ungkayah' ini merujuk pada 'usaha' dan pada situasi yang lain ia membawa maksud 'laksana'..

Contoh ayat bagi pengunaan perkataan 'ungkayah' ini ialah seperti berikut:

Contoh ayat pertama:
"diharapkan agar usaha seperti ini akan terus diungkayah dan dipergiatkan"

Pada ayat tersebut, perkataan 'ungkayah', membawa maksud 'laksana'..

Contoh ayat kedua:
"dalam ungkayah ke arah menyediakan prasarana persiapan ini"

Pada ayat yang di atas, perkataan 'ungkayah' merujuk pada perkataan 'usaha'..

Baru-baru ini saya menyedari akan kesilapan pengunaan perkataan 'ungkayah' di sebuah laman blog yang sering saya lawati..

Merujuk pada blog tersebut:

"Lagipun, waktu cuti ni lady bakal menghadiri kelas-kelas yang telah diungkayahkan oleh pihak sekolah demi membantu dan memberi pengajaran yang lebih efektif dan efisyen"..

Komen saya:

"bakal menghadiri kelas-kelas yang telah diungkayahkan".. Perkataan "bakal menghadiri" dan "telah diungkayahkan" adalah dua perkara yang saling berlawanan atau kontradik..

Bagaimana mungkin, ia terjadi?

Senario bagi ayat tersebut ialah seperti saja keinginan untuk menghadiri suatu majlis, sedangkan majlis tersebut sudah terjadi.. Ia sesuatu yang mustahil..

Mungkin apa yang ingin disampaikan ialah "dirancangkan" atau "diaturkan"..

Kesilapan ini boleh dielakkan di masa akan datang..

"telah diungkayahkan bermaksud telah dirancang.. Untuk makluman bersama, semua pelajar perlu menghadiri kelas yang sudah dirancang 3 bulan yang lalu dan kelas tersebut akan terus diadakan sepanjang musim cuti persekolahan ini.. Oleh itu, saya bakal menghadiri kelas yang telah lama dirancang dan dijalankan tersebut..

Dari respon tersebut saya faham apa yang sebenarnya ingin dikatakan oleh si penulis.. Kelas tersebut telah dirancang dan sedang giat dijalankan semenjak 3 bulan yang lalu..

Masih saya rasakan pengunaan 'telah diungkayahkan' pada kelas tersebut adalah satu kesilapan.. Jika ia 'telah diungkayahkan', sudah seharusnya ia 'telah terlaksana' dan jika ia 'telah terlaksana', maka ia tak perlu lagi dijalankan..

Saya sarankan pengunaan 'telah dirancangkan' atau 'telah diaturkan' digunakan menggantikan perkataan 'telah diungkayahkan'..

Semua ini adalah sebagai bahan ilmiah semata-mata..

Earlier today, i gave a tutorial session for a friend of mine.. It was for the Audit.. Ak. Firdaus (Fido), requested me to organise this tutorial session.. At first i planned not to have it but looking into his situation, i know he really need my help..

My mom always remind me, when it comes to education (study), as much as possible do share the knowledge with others who need it.. Whenever its possible, i'll try to do so..

Urm, the session took about two hours.. I can see there is still confusion in his head regarding the assertions and everything but he didnt said it out.. How can i help him then?

I have no other choice but to ask him to explain me everything that we had covered.. All that i can say, he only manage to grasp 60% of the whole Audit of Non-Current Assets and Inventories..

I gave him some hints on how to memorise and explain things, hopefully it is sufficient enough for him to get the needed marks.. I'll call him later tonight, perhaps he needs further help..

Anyway, he is such a nice guy.. He brought for me some cakes and bought me the famous Telisai, K.K Koya's Rojak.. The rojak taste good.. Thanks!! Thanks Fido for the treat..

Note: Sometimes, i myself wonder why in the world we as the children are not able to take care of the parents (just the two of them) while on the other hand, they have the ability to take care of the children..

In a worst situation, a child may not know what exactly the parents want.. But always, always the parents know what is the need of their children.. Amazing!!

So here i would like to remind everyone, including myself to do the best for the parents.. Be nice to the both of them and make them proud of you.. They expect nothing from you, but your success in life..

The least you can do for your parents is to pray for their health, safety and protection..

Commentary: The increase in the sales of cars in Brunei might be the easy payment schemes offer by the car dealers to the general public.. This easy payment scheme which includes no deposit and low installment..

In the current situation of hiking in the prices of fuel, it is expected that the sales of cars would fall.. The reason for this, as being mentioned in the article is the increase of transportation cost..

This can be explained by the theory of demand.. Fuel and Cars are complementary product.. Hence, an increase in the price of a commodity will leads to a decrease in the demand for its complement commodity.. In this situation, an increase in the price of fuel leads to a fall in the demand for cars.. Hence the sales of cars is expected to fall as a result of spiraling price of fuel..

It is fairly true that again due to the increase in the prices of fuel causing the travel cost to increase too.. It happens that the current global food inflation cause the price of food and miscellaneous supplies has increased in price.. Now, it is not worthwhile for the consumer to go across the border for such reason.. The will be on the disadvantage price..

When the consumer still opting to go to the city for shopping, then the general consumer is said to import the inflation too.. This is bad for the country as a whole.. So it is advisable for the Brunei's resident, to just do their shopping within the country itself.. If possible, try to switch to domestic produced products which then can help the local producers.. This is for the better economic condition of Brunei..

From si love..

This afternoon around 4 pm, si love picked me.. We went out to buy a present for si love's nephew.. Tomorrow is the nephew birthday.. Happy advance birthday to Ak. Mohd. Nazim Hazimin.. I bought him nothing, jahat ah!! Ehehehe..

Then, me and si love went to the Airport coz si love wanted to buy a birthday cake for the nephew.. I didnt join si love and waited for si love in the car (avoid the parking charges)..

Si love bought me something, i kinda don’t like it.. Its just not my thing.. Ehehe.. Si love, thanks for the uneaten food.. I don’t know the name, don’t ask me..

Then, me and si love went to Easyway where i ordered their Laksa Kuching.. Nice!! Worth the dollar.. Thanks, si love..

Dewasa ini, penggunaan bahasa Melayu seakan-akan semakin terpinggir.. Sukar bagi kita untuk melihat bahan penulisan yang benar-benar menjurus pada bahasa Melayu itu sendiri dan ini menyebabkan generasi belia untuk cenderung menggunakan bahasa asing.. Tidak keterlaluan untuk saya katakan bahawa, kini bahasa Melayu hanyalah bersifat alternatif sahaja..

Bukti yang paling jelas dan dekat pada diri kita ialah lelaman 'blog' ini sendiri.. Majoriti besar 'blog-blog' ini menggunakan bahasa asing yang lazimnya merupakan bahasa Inggeris sebagai bahasa utama dalam penulisan..

Banyak aktiviti yang telah diungkayahkan oleh agensi-agensi yang berkenaan demi mengangkat semula nilai bahasa Melayu dan semua ini diharapkan akan dapat menyerapkan penggunaan bahasa Melayu secara berterusan terutamanya di kalangan para belia..

Kesilapan pertama:
Barang yang telah dihasilkan tidak dapat menapung kemahuan pengguna yang tidak terkawal untuk membeli dan memiliki barangan tersebut..

Perkataan menapung itu seharusnya menampung..

Kesilapan kedua:
Justeru itu, para pengusaha menaikan harga barang-barang untuk menurunkan kadar kemahuan pengguna dalam membeli produk-produk yang ada dipasaran.

Perkataan dipasaran itu seharusnya di pasaran..

Oh.. Lady telah menyedari kesilapan ketiga iaitu padaperkataan "kesemua", haruslah ada jarakkan.. "ke semua"..

Semua ini hanyalah sebagai bahan intellektual perbincangan.. Lady, tahniah usaha yang giat dalam penulisan dalam bentuk bahasa Melayu..

Discussion session..

Organised a discussion session, for the upcoming Audit test.. The topic to be covered is very broad actually.. This is the session where, we can share common idea about the topic.. Luckily, we were able to cover the whole topic in almost three hours time.. But i must say that some minor issue was still undiscussed..

- Be prepared with questions to be discussed..
- Bring any materials (textbooks, workbooks, papers, worksheets, calculators, pens, pencils, etc) that may be needed in the discussion session..

My thoughts..

In my preceding posting, i did cover on the Malaysia's government attempts to stabilize its economic position by increasing the prices of fuel, effective January next year..

1st Suggestion:

Owh bro Marriz.. I strongly agree on that point.. We, as the residents of Brunei should be grateful with the help given..

When the subsidy of fuel is to be decreased, then with the current situation of increasing world price of fuel, the general fuel consumers would only be able less volumes of fuel with the same price of money.. This is as per the Law of Demand where when the price increases, the demand will decrease..

By doing so, not only the demand will decrease, it will also suggest a reduction in the volumes of fuel consumption.. Hence, more energy can be conserved..

The reduction in the subsidy of fuel can be used to subsidize another productive capital expenditure.. As being mentioned in my old posting, with the B$ 202M the government can open up new schools, better infrastructures, encourages entrepreneurship among the locals..

I believe the three above mentioned capital expenditure is far more productive than fully subsidizing the amount to the fuel..

By opening up new school, we can produce new generation of intellectuals who can contribute to the better economic development..

With better infrastructures, the general residents are able to experience a better standard of living.. Better standard of living with better quality of life.. Please bear in mind the two terms are different..

Further more, with that huge amount of subsidy the government can encourage entrepreneurship among the local.. So instead of seeking for job, the local can now be the job provider.. So less unemployment and social crimes.. Domestic production will definitely increase, the it can be exported elsewhere.. Hence it leads to economic growth, due to a surplus balance of payment..

Second Suggestion:
Marriz suggested that salary and wages should also be increased..

Perhaps he perceived that the increase in the prices of fuel can be off-set by an increase in salary and wages.. But it would leads to a bigger root problem..

For this i have to agree with Lady and Shamyza point of view..

Dear reader(s), the increase in the salary and wages seem to be good but economically, it isn’t.. With a greater salary and wages, spending will also increase.. In this situation, the economy is said to experience an inflation.. An inflation is the situation where too many money chasing after a very few commodities..

For the same reason, the general public will have the ability to buy more imported products.. This is bad for the country as this will lead to a disequilibrium balance of payment due to greater payment than it receipts.. The lacking of demand on domestic products will cause the foreign-competing firm in the country unable to compete with the foreign firm.. Hence, some firms might have the last resort to lay off some of the workers so the unemployment and crime rates will also increase..

However, part of me believe that when increasing inflation rates is taken into account, some of the current salary scales might no longer be appropriate..

Thing to be noted here is the different between the pay and perks offered by the government and private sector.. Thanks to the government.. Brunei is fortunate to have such a very conducive economic environment..

Malaysia Current Situation..

No more fuel price hike this year, govt to pay out salary twice a month..

Last Wednesday (4th June 2008), the Malaysia's government announced an increase in the fuel prices which effective on Thursday (5th June 2008)..

The price of petrol increased by 78 sen or 41 %,
from RM1.92 to RM2.70 per litre..

An increase of RM1 or 63 % in the price of diesel,
from RM1.58 to RM2.58 per litre..

However at today (Wednesday, 11th June 2008), Malaysia's Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi announced that such increase in the prices of fuel will not be raised any more this year so as to ease the burden on the people..

He also announced that from August onwards, The salary for the staff working with the government and civil servants will be paid twice per month, instead of once to facilitate management of expenses and cash flow of households following the increase in fuel prices..

The first half of the salary will be paid on the middle of the month and the other half at the end of the month.. As for the statutory deduction will still be done once per month, which is on the 2nd cycle of payment (end of month)..

My not-so-intellectual comment:

I have a mixed reaction on the new policies.. The price will remain unchange this year.. In the consumer point of view, it is a favourable action.. The residents as a whole would not be happy with sudden changes in the price of fuel.. They need time to re-adjust their lifestyle..

But i must not agree with the idea of the Malaysia's government to pay out salary twice per month.. The reason for this is that somehow it contradicts with its objective.. Many would not be able to meet up with their day-to-day expenses..

Am very thankful to Allah that am in Brunei.. Am very thankful to the Brunei's government for the B$202M fuel subsidy.. I don't know how I'd repay that generosity.. Thanks!!

Lunch with the galfiees..

It wasnt a very busy day for me.. Nothing much to do.. Spent more quality time with the galfiees and Ka Sofie.. Me and the galfiees went to the Giant at Rimba.. Its been so long i didnt come here.. No significant changes from the fast time i went here but more empty parking lots.. Ehehehe..

Late this afternoon, we went to U-soff cafe for our hi-tea session.. There were 5 of us.. My 4 galfies and me.. I love them all.. While having our tea tarik, i checked my email and there were few emails that need to be looked into..
