HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards!!

HSBC Young Entrepreneur Awards was held earlier this afternoon at the 4th floor of the Hua Ho, Mall.. This event will be updated later.. Seeya..

Updated:

Well in actual fact, the invitation was at 1.30 in the afternoon and i was late for that event.. I arrived there around 10 minutes to 2 and luckily the event wasnt started yet..

While waiting for the arrival of the Guest of Honour, spent a good time to read the 'booklets' - aturcara majlis.. Whahaha.. Looking on to the list of final judges, am so impressed.. Wow!! A good line of judges namely (from the left on picture):

1. Mr. Tareq Muhmood, the CEO of HSBC
2. Dr. Joyce Teo, the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Research UBD
3. Mr. Albert Tan, the Managing Director of Great Future Sdn Bhd - Vincci
4. Hj Shazali Sulaiman, the Partner of KPMG Auditors

I know these reputable people will obviously pick the right contestant as the champion..

As for the finalist, there were three 3 teams:

1. S.B Employment Agency consists of Suserena Hj Mohd Hashim and Ampuan Mohd Badruddin Asri bin Ampuan Hj Said, both from the Business School.. Their business plan was to open up an employment agency offering services mainly for the local citizens in seeking, finding and/or trainning people for suitable jobs..

2. Wafe Waffle is a team of two daughter of Md Salleh, namely Nurul Hamizah and Nurul Husna.. Hamizah is a student of the Business School, whilst her sister is an undergraduate student of UBD.. Manufacturing and supplying starch-based non-biodegradable cutleries which benefits the environment was their business proposal..

3. Lee Kheng Sien and Shalom Grace Leong made the Reyes and Lee Corp with an idea to give the recycling business a touch of convinience and benefit for everyone, mainly community, business and the environment..

The Guest of Honour for the award ceremony was the Deputy Minister of Industry and Primary Resources Dato Hj Hamdillah Hj Abdul Wahab.. He in his welcome speech mentioned that the government under the MIPR is now in the process of restructuring the existing government financial scheme, both the Enterpise Facilitation Scheme (SKP) and the Micro-Credit Financing Scheme (SKM).. SKP for the big operation whilst SKM for those operating in small size..

Well for the benefit of sharing, i would like to mention here that both of this schemes were allocated under the Industrial Development Fund (IDF)..
Info:

1. Enterprise Facilitation Scheme (SKP)
- It covers only 4 sectors: Agriculture, Fishery, Tourism and Manufacturing..
- Maximum loan of $1.5 million at an interest of 4% per annum on the declining balance and the repayment of loan are maximum of 7 years depending on the time of investment..

2. Micro-Credit Financing Scheme (SKM)
- Aimed at existing enterprises and/or viable start-up enterprise..
- Maximum loan of $30K with an interest rate of 4% on the declining balance and the term of loan for up to 3 years..

Restructuring (still in-progress):
- Increase in the loan repayment period..
- Increase in the maximum amount of loan..
- Increase in the sector covers such as ICT..

I'll comment about the finalist presentation on another posting.. This posting is a lil bit too 'rojak' already.. However, the receipient of the awards are as follow:
